How to Prepare for Carpet Cleaning

PureGleam's hot-water extraction method is the gold standard for reviving carpets. To get the best possible results when we arrive (from £60 minimum visit), here is how you should prepare the room:

1. Clear Clutter: Pick up toys, shoes, cables, and magazines from the floor. The clearer the space, the more thoroughly our technicians can work.
2. Move Light Furniture: While we can clean around large, heavy items like wardrobes or beds, moving dining chairs, coffee tables, and floor lamps to another room allows us to extract edges more effectively.
3. Note the Stains: If you know what caused a specific stain (e.g., red wine, pet accident, coffee), point it out to us! Different chemical compounds require different enzymatic pre-treatments.
4. Pin Up Curtains: If your curtains drape onto the carpet, pin them up by at least 6 inches to prevent the damp carpet from touching the fabric while it dries.
5. Keep Pets Away: The machinery can be loud and the front door may need to be left ajar for hoses. Secure pets in an uncarpeted room for their own peace of mind.
